April 22, 2021 -- Hillstown Grange is holding an open air, plant sale and hanging flower basket market in the parking lot at the Grange Hall on Thursday, May 13th from 1 to 4 pm. Plants will be from local farms and the baskets from Maple Crest Farm. On street parking only and masks must be worn along with social distancing. We will have helpers to carry items to your car. The hall will not be open at this event.
There will also be someone taking orders for New England Seed with pick-up on May 20th just before The Garden Talk/Zoom Meeting. Please Note; that again this year people are returning to backyard gardening in droves, so you will have to accept some substitution as many varieties, especially with beans and corn that have already sold out.
New this year will be a garden tag sale, all items will be garden related and the public is invited to bring items they no longer need to help us raise funds for upcoming community outreach programs. Also if you have extra plants, please consider adding to our orphaned plant table at the tag sale, rest assured we will find them good homes.
There will be Connecticut Certified Master Gardeners on hand for any questions you may have about plants and how to get your gardens started. Grange Gardeners will also be on hand to assist. There will also be a Master Composter on hand if you were thinking about trying composting this spring and have some questions. This is a good opportunity to safely visit with other gardeners but remember "social distancing". Ask about the Hillstown Grange Garden Talk/Zoom Meeting for new, intermediate and experienced gardeners and be sure to sign-up and get on the email list.
