Hillstown Grange will host their 132nd Agricultural Fair on Saturday, September 12th from 9 am to 2 pm. at the Grange Hall located at 617 Hills Street, East Hartford, CT.
Craft people, artists, gardeners, and cooks of all ages are encouraged to enter their best items to be judged for our fair. Judged items may be awarded ribbons and cash prizes. All entries must be brought to the Grange Hall Thursday, September 10th between 5 and 7 pm. and picked up between 1 and 2 pm on Saturday, September 12.
Garden categories include vegetables, fruit, flowers, and our special "Special Contests". There is an adult level and a youth level. Please see our entry form for number of items needed to enter.
Kitchen categories include baked goods, canned goods, jelly and jams. We are the only local fair in the area for entries in the Connecticut State Fairs competitions and we had one winner going all the way to win the State title of 'best apple pie'. Both at our fair and the State level is open to all with both an adult and a youth level.
Crafts, hobbies, and photos can be entered at adult and youth levels.
Special contests are: Vegetables - most colorful vegetables on a 9 inch paper plate (no hanging over edge). Any vegetables that will fit on the plate can be used. Flowers - Red, White, and Blue, any flower mix that comes closest to our Flag colors.
Lunch is available with our famous hot dogs and hamburgers topped with peppers and onions will be available from 11 am to 1 pm weather permitting. We will have indoor and outdoor seating for lunch. Raffle numbers will be pulled at 2 pm. A farmer’s market will be held outside weather permitting.
The Hillstown Grange Fair is the area's only Agricultural Fair, serving the towns of East Hartford, Glastonbury, and Manchester for 130 years; come and feel the history.
++ Special Note: Face masks will be required and we will make ever effort for a safe and fun fair. Please remember that many things have had to change for us to put on this fair.
