JANUARY 4, 2014 -- Our December meeting turned out a wonderful potluck supper. Amazing how they all seem to balance themselves out.
We voted to change insurance companies as our old one dropped us. Option 2 was voted in - the more coverage plan. A full payment was voted so we will not go into payments and possible expense.
Granges with fairs are having problems obtaining coverage due to recent trouble in the Carolina’s - we are fully insured for building – volunteers, etc. It took many hours of research by Jim, Chair of the Executive Committee — thank you, Jim!
Our property committee has lots of things that need “fixing”- the valve on the water heater is immediate.
Lyme’s Youth Service Bureau does a lot for our youth in our community. This year they adopted single parent families and are attempting to fulfill their small wish lists. A vote was made and we will donate a monetary amount to help them with this project.
With it being Sandy’s birthday – a cake was fixed up and the song sung.
Christmas cards were passed out and 18 cards were signed and will be mailed to our oldest member, Virginia Gardner, age 99.
Note cards were passed out and 22 thank you notes will be sent to Frank Forest who tucks them into packages for our soldiers overseas.
Old wives tales- “as the days begin to lengthen the cold begins to strengthen.” I hope they are wrong,
Happy new year to everyone!
