NOVEMBER 9, 2012 -- Just arrived back from the annual State Grange Session. I am happy to report, Prospect Grange received the first place for our Community Service projects for the past year, thanks to all those grange members and friends of our grange that helped us in any way. We could not have accomplished this without your many hours of volunteer help and support. Thank you again. Keep up the good work and please let me know of any projects that you think our grange should do. We are always looking for in put and new ideas.
We also appreciate those organizations that we worked with to allow Prospect Grange help them with their projects.
We have a new project this coming year. Our new projects starting now is called “Operation Cold Weather”. We are in the process of collecting clean slightly used coats, jackets, sweat shirts, sweaters, scarves and gloves. These items will be donated to those in need through the St Vincent DePaul Shelter in Waterbury. Anyone wishing to help, please contact Jean Meehan at 203-758-5653.
We are happy to see Carol Brooks and Elaine Graveline coming back to our meetings. Several of our members are away at college and others working nights and are unable to attend meetings. We are really thrilled they came to help us.
Our December meeting will be a Christmas Pot Luck Supper beginning at 6 p.m. Christmas card exchange and a $2.00 grab bag gift is on the agenda along with celebrating our 118th Anniversary. Please come help us celebrate. We meet the second Thursday of the month at the Prospect Senior Center on Center Street (behind the Prospect Police Dept.) in Prospect at 7:30 p.m.
Maybe Santa will come to visit. He was too busy to stay last year, but left gifts under the Senior Center’s Christmas tree for our two future members Ayden age 5 and Sherry age 8. They were thrilled Santa didn’t forget them.
Prospect Grange would like to wish ALL our friends and members a very Happy Holiday Season. |
