JANUARY 7, 2012 -- Ekonk Juniors had a busy November!
We walked the day after Thanksgiving, for St. Jude’s. We raised close to $300.00! Some of us walked 5 miles! All 22 of us enjoyed the glorious morning and exercise.
Over 30 members and friends hiked to Pharisee Rock, where legend has it that the Indians used to use it for a look-out, and as a meeting place. Supposedly, a Medicine man would offer up his evening prayers of thanks from this place. It was about a 2 mile, total, hike. We saw trees cut by beavers, we listened to an expert on Indian lore, and had a enjoyable hike that ended back at the Grange, where many of us made dream catchers.
We had a bake sale table at the Subordinate’s Bazaar. We also taught any interested people how to make 3-D snowflakes. We made $45.75!
We’d been practicing Friday nights for our Christmas play, “A Place in the Christmas Choir”. A musical about a hound dog finding her place in Santa’s choir. All our hard work paid off on December 9th.
We assisted the Subordinates in collecting food stuffs for two Thanksgiving baskets, for local seniors.
We, with the Subordinate’s, adopted a family for Christmas; and are collecting food for more boxes.
We wish you all a fantastic holiday season and a enjoyable and healthy New Year! |
